HMM posts $910 million profit in H1 2025
Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) has reported KRW 5.48 trillion ($4.12 billion) in revenue for the first half of 2025.

HMM posted a net profit of KRW 1.21 trillion ($910 million) and operating profit of KRW 847 billion ($636 million) in H1 2025, with a 15.5 per cent operating margin.

Q2 2025 revenue reached KRW 2.62 trillion ($1.97 billion), with net profit at KRW 471 billion ($354 million) and operating profit at KRW 233 billion ($175 million).

The SCFI averaged 1,701 points, down 27 per cent year-over-year (YoY), as freight rates declined amid US tariffs and trade tensions.

HMM anticipates continued market volatility due to expiring tariff grace periods and ongoing renegotiations.

Shifts in regional demand are also expected to sustain supply chain congestion.

HMM will respond with flexible fleet deployment, stable COA revenue, and cost cuts through vessel efficiency.

In June, HMM announced the launch of a new service, the North China-Indonesia Service (NIS), which will connect key ports in North China and Indonesia.
