Global Ports strengthens Yanino terminal equipment fleet

Global Ports Group has commissioned a new reachstacker and a front loader at the Group’s inland terminal Yanino logistics park near Saint Petersburg.

The reachstacker at Yanino is used for handling various types of containers at the warehouses and railway cargo fronts.

This comes a month after Global Ports commissioned two mobile harbour cranes Liebherr LHM550 at the group’s Far Eastern terminal Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company (VSC) located in the deep-water Port of Vostochniy in Primorskiy krai, Russia.

With now four heavy lifters of this capacity in Yanino’s fleet, the terminal aims to increase the production capacity and efficiency of cargo handling.

Another unit of equipment, the new front loader, will be used for smaller cargo operations and for cleaning the working areas of the terminal from snow and debris.

The loader is indispensable in the conditions of snowy winters and off-season to quickly ensure the free passage of vehicles through the terminal.

In April 2023, Global Ports Group, announced that it is establishing its own fleet of 4,000 specialised containers that will be used for the transportation, storage, and handling of bulk cargo.
