Online freight forwarder iContainers has been named in 'Cool Vendors in Supply Chain Execution Technologies', an annual report by information technology research company Gartner which evaluates interesting, new and innovative vendors, products and services in the digital commerce market.
The freight forwarder recently launched a new automated instant notifications system allowing shippers to receive email alerts of their shipment status changes automatically.
This followed its release of the Track & Trace service, a container tracking tool which allows shippers to monitor their shipment status in real-time.
One of the recommendations the report makes with regards to realizing the advantages of new technologies is the importance of track-and-trace, traceability and visibility when exploiting the information generated by “ecosystem connectedness”.
