A recently released video by the Panama Canal gives an update of its massive expansion project, which is nearing completion and is set to be inaugurated on June 26, 2016.
The expansion programme is 98% completed and once it is operational, it will mark several years of efforts by canal’s workers.
The third set of locks project, which is also 98% completed, is currently going through its final stages of development and is considered the most complex component of the project.
The testing phase continues and is keeping up the pace in preparation for the imminent inauguration.
