Data and System Planning (DSP), an informatics technology consultancy for the shipping industry, has won this year’s Italian Terminal and Logistic Awards (ITALA) IT services category.
ITALA’s recognition comes after DSP's high-profile terminal operating system migration for NTB – North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven, Germany.
DSP switched NTB from SPARCS 3.7 and Express to Navis N4 version 3.1 — a platform that automates yard planning by distributing containers based on predefined business rules.
The award for port, intermodal and logistic operators is an initiative organized by the Italian Association of Terminal Operators (Assiterminal) and the Italian Port Association (Assoporti).
ITALA presented a total of 10 prizes to companies, professionals and entrepreneurs, on October 5, 2017, in the Hall of Tapestries of the Alberoni College in Piacenza, Italy.

DSP was honoured for positioning itself as the best IT services supplier after securing its “own independent position on the international market”.
Founded in 1986 within a primary international terminal group of La Spezia, DSP has been able to emancipate as a spin-off by supplying IT solutions and TOS consulting services to companies involved in shipping, port and terminal management and intermodal transportation.
Marco Fehmer, DSP CEO, said: “We are so proud of this recognition meaning that hard work and passion pays off.
“Thanks to the whole DSP team for making this possible.”
