The intention of this review is to gain a valuable insight into the way that companies and carriers have tackled container weighing since it was implemented on July 1, 2016.

The four papers to be featured in part two are written by Beat Zwygart, Market Manager, Container Weighing at Conductix Wampfler; Simon Rush, Global Marketing Communication Manager at Trimble; Captain Richard W A Brough O.B.E., Technical Advisor for ICHCA International; and Nils Haupt, Head of Corporate Communications for Hapag-Lloyd.

Michael King, Online Editor for PTI, said: “The response from the first Container Weighing eBook was huge.

“The eBook is a new offering for PTI; however, it is an area which has provided a platform for increased discussion and engagement between professionals in our industry.

“PTI is due to release three more eBooks in the coming months: Security, Surveillance and Detection [December, 2016], and Cutting-Edge Automation 2 and Insurance and Risk Management, which will both be released in January, 2017. For more information to contribute Technical Papers for our forthcoming editions, please contact bee@porttechnology.org.

“We hope that the eBook is an enjoyable and stimulating read; take the time to share your feedback with us so that we can continuously improve content for our readers.”
