COSCO SHIPPING set to call at Port of Genoa

COSCO Shipping has announced that its vessel, COSCO SHIPPING Aries, will be the first 20,000 TEU vessel to regularly access the Port of Genoa.

On its inaugural voyage in 2018, the ultra-large container carrier became the first Chinese ship of the 20,000 TEU class to call at HHLA Container Terminal Tollerort (CTT) in Hamburg, Germany.

Next week, on 19 March, Captain Wang Chunsheng and his crew will be the first to sail the 400-metre-long vessel into the Port of Genoa, Italy’s largest containerised direct traffic port.

COSCO SHIPPING has become the first shipping firm to call the Port of Genoa with 20,000 TEU vessels by operating COSCO SHIPPING Aries, three other ultra-large container vessels, and four vessels of varying sizes on its Asia Mediterranean Service (AEM1) service.

In February, COSCO SHIPPING Lines opened its new branch office, SARL, in Casablanca, Morocco.
