COSCO SHIPPING launches digital supply chain platform for automotive industry

COSCO SHIPPING announced the success of its automotive industry digital supply chain platform during the 2023 North Bund International Shipping Forum launch ceremony.

COSCO SHIPPING is working to connect the logistics and manufacturing industries to solve transportation problems for the automotive sector. The company aims to build a smart, eco-friendly supply chain platform tailored for automobile transportation.

This platform incorporates digital technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and 5G to seamlessly connect all aspects of the shipping industry.

With 157 routes connecting over 60 ports worldwide, it offers a comprehensive range of 310 digital supply chain products, including trailer services, warehousing, customs declaration, shipping, unpacking, and PDI testing.

Its logistics solutions are tailored to the needs of automotive industry customers, providing exclusive end-to-end services.

Additionally, the platform integrates green and intelligent technology to automatically calculate transportation carbon emissions and actively participates in the International Maritime Organization (IMO)’s comprehensive assessment of EEX I and CII.

This ensures that the service is in compliance with all necessary regulations and can provide a sustainable transportation solution.

In August 2023, COSCO SHIPPING Development’s 700 TEU electric container vessel (N997) launched at COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry’s No.1 Shipyard in Yangzhou, China.

More recently, COSCO SHIPPING, State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC), Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG), and China Certification & Inspection Group (CCIC) inked an Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to build a green methanol industrial chain online.
