CMA CGM Group has announced the maiden voyage of the CMA CGM ELBE, which took place on October 14 in Dalian, China.
With a capacity of 9,400 TEU, the ELBE is the second in a series of 28 vessels from 9,400-10,900 TEU that will be delivered from now to Q3, 2016.
Sailing under the flag of Malta, it is the second chartered ship of this class built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co in China, and delivered to the Group.
At 300m long and 48m wide, the ship has been designed to offer maximum loading capacity while meeting the technical constraints necessitated by passage through the Bosporus Strait in Turkey.
Operated on one of the emblematic lines of the Group – the Bosporus Express – the CMA CGM ELBE will offer direct service between Asia, Turkey and the Black Sea.
It will call at Dalian, Tianjin, Kwangyang, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Chiwan, Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Izmit, Istanbul Ambarli, Constanza, Odessa, Ilyichevsk, Port Said, Port Kelang and Singapore.
TheCMA CGM ELBE is also equipped with thelatest environmental technology designed to significantly reduce its CO2 emissions, as well as the Group’s carbon footprint.
