CMA CGM Hires ‘One of the Best Experts Worldwide’

The CMA CGM Group has announced that the appointment of “one of the best experts worldwide” to head up its digital transformation.

Rajesh Krishnamurthy (pictured above right and below) will become Group Senior Vice President IT and Transformations for the world’s third largest container shipping company on February 12, 2018, to deliver on its ambition to become the industry’s leader in new digital solutions.

Among Rodolphe Saadé’s five strategic priorities, digitalization is considered as a lever for growth, differentiation and performance.

Numerous initiatives have already been launched as part of a global strategy.

The carrier has appointed a worldwide team of Chief Digital Officers, established CMA CGM Ventures, the corporate venture structure dedicated to investments in innovative technologies, and developed partnerships with major e-commerce groups.

In an announcement, CMA CGM said: “To accelerate this transformation, CMA CGM is recruiting the best specialists in the field and that is why CMA CGM is recruiting Rajesh Krishnamurthy to drive this strategy.”

Previously, Rajesh Krishnamurthy was President – Head of Europe and Global Head Energy, Utilities, Telecommunications and Services of Infosys, a global leader in technology services and consulting, helping clients in creating and executing digital transformation strategies.

CMA CGM recently announced that it would use artificial intelligence in its ongoing digital transformation by partnering with Infosys.

Rajesh's portfolio of responsibilities also included Infosys Consulting, a global advisor to leading companies for strategy, business optimization and technology-enabled transformation programs.

After the CMA CGM-Infosys partnership announcement in September 2017, Rajesh said: “Simplifying the technology footprint and leveraging next-generation technologies is the need of the hour for the hyper-competitive shipping and logistics industry.

Rajesh Krishnamurthy has spent most of his career in the fields of IT and transformation.

In his 25-plus year career with Infosys, he has held senior leadership positions across the business and in all major markets.

As a business leader of large transformation projects, Rajesh has helped realize compelling value for clients through his deep industry knowledge, coupled with technology experience.

Rajesh Krishnamurthy graduated in Electronics Engineering from the University of Pune, one of India’s premier universities, also called “The Oxford of the East”.
