CMA CGM updates Far East and Kenya service

CMA CGM has announced an update to its Asea Kenya service in an attempt to improve reliable customer service.

Starting with M/V Emmanuel P, ETA Qingdao on 9 October 2023, the Asea Kenya service will offer a direct weekly call at Qingdao and a faster transit time from North China to Kenya.

The new rotation will be the following:

Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Nansha – Singapore – Port Klang – Mombasa – Singapore – Qingdao.

Mombasa will be served in 27 days from Qingdao, 24 days from Shanghai, and 20 days from Nansha.

According to the shipping line, containers now in transit in Colombo bound for Mogadishu, Nacala, and the Comoros will be diverted through Mombasa and loaded on the Noura service, which will include Mombasa in its rotation ahead of Mogadishu.

Mogadishu, Nacala, and the Comoros will now be available nine days sooner from Asia.

CMA CGM’s Jeddex service will reportedly continue to serve Mayotte in transshipment at Mombasa. Mombasa will continue to serve Zanzibar and Tanga.

In August 2023, CMA CGM introduced the addition of Oakland to its AZTECA Loop 1 with direct calls from the US West Coast to Central America.

More recently, CMA CGM announced that it is resuming its direct calls in Iskenderun on the NC Levant Express service.
