The CMA CGM Group has started a new weekly intermodal container service from Trieste (Italy) to Eastern Europe.
In collaboration with its subsidiary CEVA Logistics, the CMA CGM Group started kicked off the new service with an initial block train operated at the Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG‘s Italian multi-purpose terminal Piattaforma Logistica Trieste (HHLA PLT Italy) on the 4 June.
According to HHLA this intermodal offer will allow sustainable and efficient access to fast growing markets in the heart of Europe, underscoring the importance of its Trieste terminal as an Adriatic hub.
“With this new intermodal service, the company enriches its service offering in the Adria region with HHLA PLT Italy and gains a competitive connection with important markets in Central and Eastern Europe,” said Paolo Lo Bianco, Managing Director of CMA CGM Italy.
CMA CGM is already offering calls at HHLA PLT Italy with its weekly TMX3 maritime service, linking the Port of Trieste with Ambarli, Gemlik and Gebze in Turkey as well as with Malta.
The CMA CGM Group reported impressive first quarter results for 2022.
Against the backdrop of major tension on global supply chains, the company’s net profit stood at $7.2 billion.
