Blaze Erupts at Port of Colombo

The Harbour Authority in Sri Lanka is to carry out an investigation, after a fire reportedly broke out at a container terminal in Colombo Port on Monday August 29, 2016.

There were reportedly no casualties, however the fire was caused by a large pile of rubber had caught fire. Fire units in the local area, together with the navy had been deployed to douse the fire.

This news follows a recent piece of breaking news that Brazil’s largest port, the Port of Santos, had been closed as a result of a flooding.
