Bearing AI, Hapag-Lloyd launches AI-powered vessel emissions tracker

Bearing AI, the AI Decision Engine for the maritime industry, and Hapag Lloyd have launched an AI-powered Fleet Deployment Optimizer.

The Fleet Deployment Optimizer helps customers accurately simulate future emissions and instantly compare the efficiency of different vessels across potential schedules.

This tool helps customers maximise environmental compliance while still considering service requirements, fleet composition and other critical business needs.

Both parties believe that technology will play an important role in enabling companies to meet their emissions reduction goals while still maintaining service reliability and profitability.

Bearing AI merged its experience in AI with Hapag-Lloyd’s industry knowledge throughout the joint development of the Fleet Deployment Optimizer to guarantee the Fleet Deployment Optimizer addressed some of the most important emissions-related concerns confronting businesses.

Bearing AI Co-Founder and CEO, Dylan Keil, said: “We’re delighted to be working closely with Hapag-Lloyd, a company that’s passionate about the future of this industry. They share our dedication to developing and applying technologies that pave the way for more sustainable operations in this new green era of global shipping.

“Fleet Deployment Optimizer is one of the most significant recent developments in fleet management and it’s just the beginning – we’re excited to unveil its full potential, and continue to rapidly innovate with industry-leading customers like Hapag-Lloyd.”

Fleet Deployment Optimizer is constantly evolving as part of Bearing’s broader AI Decision Engine platform, and Bearing aims to offer a series of updates in the near future.

According to Bearing, it is actively providing further functionality for EU ETS. Bearing AI’s Decision Engine platform, in the end, will not only assist shipping businesses in making better data-driven decisions, but it will also alter how the sector runs.

This month, Hapag-Lloyd and Brazilian shipping and waterway logistics business Norsul set up a new joint venture for container cabotage and feeder services.
