Adani, Kowa Holdings partner to market green hydrogen in Japan

Adani Global Pte Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd, has launched a 50:50 joint venture with Kowa Holdings Asia Pte Ltd for the selling and marketing of green ammonia, green hydrogen, and its derivatives.

According to Adani, the joint venture will concentrate on product marketing in Japan, Taiwan, and Hawaii.

Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), Adani Group’s green hydrogen platform, is developing end-to-end solutions for producing globally competitive green hydrogen and its related sustainable derivatives at scale.

In Gujarat, the first phase of Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL)’s 1 million metric tonnes per annum green hydrogen project is being executed.

The first phase is anticipated to begin production in FY2027. ANIL intends to invest over $50 billion in the next 10 years to grow capacity to up to 3 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) of green hydrogen, depending on market conditions.

In May 2023, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) completed the sale of its port in Myanmar for $30 million.

Three months later, Adani released its June 2023 portfolio, which conveyed a strong performance with all-time high quarterly profit (EBITDA) of INR 23,532 crore ($2.8 billion), 42 per cent higher year-on-year (YoY).
