  • STS cranes ordered by CdM already in operation

Konecranes has announced the successful delivery of two ship-to-shore (STS) cranes to the Port of Beira, Mozambique.

The two cranes, ordered by Cornelder de Moçambique (CdM), were loaded onto ships, fully-erected and arrived in Beira during a very tight time window, despite huge monthly tide variations.

The STS cranes are already operating at the Port of Beira’s container terminal, according to the Finnish manufacturer.

Each crane has an outreach of 40 metres, a lifting capacity of 65 tonnes under spreader, and they are designed for twin lift operation. The cranes are also equipped with remote access technology that enables remote diagnostics and provides access to the expertise and maintenance services available through Konecranes’ Truconnect. In addition, each unit is also connected wirelessly to the maintenance office to allow monitoring and trouble-shooting.
