Opportunities amid challenges
The global trend of vessel oversupply has remained the main burden for the industry. Alliance driven consolidation is the industry’s key focus for the deployment of mega-ships on East-West trades and the cascading of displaced vessels into smaller trades, thereby increasing vessel sizes across the board and adding a great deal of complexity in terms of customer management, inter-terminal operations and service delivery.
