2006 has been an exceptionally positive year for Liebherr-Werk Nenzing with regards to the American market as numerous orders have been placed for its comprehensive variety of port equipment products.
The laying of the cornerstone to open up the market in Latin America was the signing of a contract for a Liebherr reachstacker, type LRS 645 with the Colombian banana producer ‘Banacol’ in 2005.
The LRS 645 is mainly used for the loading and unloading of river barges as well as for yard operations in Banacol’s facility in the Colombian Port of Turbo.
Characterised by its curve-shaped telescopic boom, the LRS 645 offers unique stacking opportunities, barge loading/unloading from/to below ground level without a special boom extension as well as container stacking up to six high in the first row.
