Intermodal freight operator VTG Aktiengesellschaft (VTG AG) has launched its FastTrack service to the DUSS terminal in Munich-Riem.

The service is already established in ports such as Rotterdam and Gothenburg, with the new service extending coverage through central Europe.

“With FastTrack, we have established a Europe-wide premium offer and are pleased to be able to expand this with another attractive location,” says Thomas Dittmann, Head of Digital Products at VTG.

“Through the short-term and digitally supported provision of wagons in Munich, we offer additional capacities and thus reliability for transports that were otherwise mostly handled by road. In doing so, we not only make our customers an attractive offer, but also make a contribution to achieving the transport and environmental policy goal of shifting goods from road to rail.”

The DUSS Munich-Riem terminal is the central hub between central and southern Europe and bundles traffic to and from Italy in particular.

This makes it a central hub for numerous operators and offers a large number of railway companies.

Customers can now book single wagons (90-foot container wagons) for maritime and continental traffic online around the clock.
