The Port of Vancouver USA has announced that it is seeking Statements of Interest for the complete development of its new high-volume marine terminal facility at the port’s existing terminal five.
The contract will include all aspects of the development from designing, permitting, constructing and then operating the new terminal.
The port is not restrictive to the container shipping marker, the authority has stated it is open to dry bulk, liquid bulk, automotive and any other commodity that can take full advantage of its strategic location within a premium rail network, of which the terminal has an existing loop track allowing trains to be handled within its own rail complex.
Located at the heart of the Pacific Northwest on the Columbia- Snake River system, the port has been an economic hub for over a hundred years, and its annual cargo gross tonnage exceeds six million.
The development comes at a time of uncertainty for shipping and ports globally, but especially in the US, following the election of Donald Trump as 45th President of the United States.
