Terberg Tractors Malaysia (TTM) officially unveiled the Malaysia-built Model YT200EV, an innovative full battery electric tractor, to guests at the Terberg Manufacturing Plant in Pasir Gudang.
TTM took the opportunity to also display an autonomous diesel terminal tractor equipped with Aidrivers’ AI-enabled autonomous technology during the event.
Since 2019, Aidrivers and TTM have been collaborating with the aim of developing accessible autonomous transportation while satisfying the demands of the ports industry.
Speaking on the importance of autonomous transportation, Founder and CEO of Aidrivers, Dr Rafiq Swash, said: “The ultimate goal of such a solution is delivering higher productivity and efficiency, alongside improved safety, lower emissions and resilience, which are the ‘must haves’ for a sustainable future.”
With in-design drive-by-wire, a Terberg YT223-T3 (diesel) terminal tractor has been created that is compatible with Aidrivers’ autonomous eco-system, which includes Simulator “AISE,” Operator “AIFO,” and Navigator “AIOS.”
The first live autonomous demonstration was announced earlier this year to take place within ongoing operations at the Port of Tanjung Pelepas, and within a mixed-traffic container terminal for normal port operations.
