heavy-duty cable carrier with integrated rollers

For the heavy-duty cable carriers in the TKHD series, Tsubaki Kabelschlepp has taken the next development step and presents a version where the rollers are already integrated into the carrier.

The company said this is an efficient solution for applications with particularly long travel paths, such as in crane or bulk goods systems.

For the model TKHD90-R, Tsubaki Kabelschlepp builds on the proven design of the cable carrier type. The rollers with stainless steel bearings ensure lower wear and are maintenance-free. The great advantage for customers lies in the now even easier installation – for retrofits, for example, the cable carrier can run in existing guide channels. This reduces conversion costs to a minimum, saving time and money.

The cable carrier TKHD90-R was thoroughly tested before its launch, including in the Tsubaki Kabelschlepp outdoor test facility. Here, the cable carriers are exposed to real weather conditions and can be put through durability tests around the clock. Travel lengths of more than 100 m and speeds of up to 5 m/s are possible.

The TKHD heavy-duty cable carriers have been developed for ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, bulk materials handling and applications with extended travel lengths.

In addition to the version with rollers, the TKHD90 is also available with glide shoes and as an RSC (roller supported chains) system with external rollers. Roller supported chains prevent unwanted expansion on the extended travel lengths.

The cable carrier system requires up to 90 % less force compared to a gliding cable carrier, therefore saving drive power and energy.

Even at high travel speeds and accelerations, the cable routing runs smoothly and with low vibrations, reducing wear on cable carrier and cables to a minimum.

The easy installation requires no fixed support widths and can be used even for very long travel paths.
