Tragic fatality halts operations at Tacoma terminals

All Tacoma terminals have ceased operations following a fatality that took place at a maritime terminal, as confirmed by the Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA).

According to NWSA’s latest statement, the incident occurred during 8 October night operations.

Harbour officials and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) have expressed their deepest condolences to the worker’s family and friends, as well as their appreciation for the understanding and support of the community during this difficult time.

Normal operations at Tacoma are set to resume on 10 October.

In September, Nokia announced the deployment of a private wireless network for Husky Terminal and Stevedoring, a terminal operator and stevedoring firm based in Tacoma, Washington.
