TMEIC Corporation Americas, a subsidiary of Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (TMEIC), has announced the inauguration of its new offices of TMEIC Port Technologies, S.L.U. (TMEIC Spain) in Valencia, Spain.
The opening of TMEIC Spain’s new 1,000-square-metre, LEED Gold-certified office and laboratory space is located on Avenue of Cortes Valencianas.
The opening ceremony was attended by the President and CEO of TMEIC, Akira Kawaguchi, the President and CEO of TMEIC Corporation Americas (TMEIC Americas), Manmeet S. Bhatia, and the Managing Director of TMEIC Spain, Francisco J. Grau Cavanillas.
The event was also attended by local authorities, including the Regional Minister of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Nuria Montes, the Councilor of Major Projects of the City Council of Valencia, José Marí, and the President of the Valencia Chamber of Commerce, José Vicente Morata.
“Spain is a key country in the corporation’s strategy and brings great added value to TMEIC,” Kawaguchi said.
Similarly, Bhatia observed that the acquisition by TMEIC Americas of the assets that formed TMEIC Spain in 2022 “has allowed us to enhance our offering to new and existing ports and terminals clients in the form of industry leading optical character recognition technology.”

Cavanillas reported that TMEIC Spain currently employs 64 professionals focused exclusively on port container movement and automation and plans to hire an additional 20 in the coming year.
Further, Grau lauded the Valencian community for its dynamic and business friendly environment, access to several area universities and the longstanding relationship with local government agencies and the Port of Valencia.
