Smiths Detection has announced that its Global Market Director for Ports & Borders, Timothy S. Norton, will be the keynote speaker at the 6th WCO Technology & Innovation Forum as it unveils its new CORSYS smart security technology.
As a keynote speaker, Norton (featured in the video above) will provide an exclusive insight into how Smiths Detection's partnership with global digital technology innovators Microsoft and Hitachi led to the development of CORSYS.
Meet the CORSYS team at the 6th WCO Technology & Innovation Forum, taking place in Tokyo, Japan, from October 31 to 2 November 2017
The CORSYS system will be available in February 2018 to accelerate the digital transformation of ports and borders globally by allowing customs administrations to manage traffic and risks through the use of technologies such as blockchain.
At the 6th WCO Technology & Innovation Forum, Norton will also define what is shaping the future of smart borders and how digital transformation will reshape the security operations industry.

Norton, who has more than 30 years of experience in product management, market development and innovation intelligence, will be important in the ongoing development of CORSYS as it's one of Smiths Detection's largest digital solution projects to date.
In the video, Norton said: “What we're going to see in the future is customs administrations relying more on data and less on physical inspection in order to greatly improve the efficiency of their operations.”
