Shandong International Transportation Corporation (SITC) has entered into a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Xiamen Port Holding Group.
SITC plans to leverage its logistics, supply chain, and knowledge to support Xiamen Port in improving the global shipping system and achieving mutual empowerment.
CAI Liqun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Xiamen Port Holding Group, stated that Xiamen Port Group, as a member of Fujian Port Group, aims to strengthen cooperation with SITC and Xiamen Port, Fuzhou Port, Quanzhou Port, and other ports to maintain a long-term close and good cooperative relationship.

SITC noted that in the future, it will continue to deepen its strategic partnership with Xiamen, expand and upgrade cooperation areas, and carry out all-round business cooperation.
The Chinese shipping company stated that it will focus on route network layout, international transit, the entire logistics service chain, cross-border e-commerce, hinterland cargo source expansion, port intelligence, and digital transformation.
Furthermore, SITC intends to collaborate with Xiamen on developing a model of collaboration between regional ports and shipping, as well as fostering industrial transformation.
In December 2023, it was reported that China’s ports witnessed a 4.9 per cent year-on-year (YoY) surge in container throughput, totalling 257 million TEU during the first ten months.
