San Pedro Bay Ports reveal steady dwell times for March

Cargo dwell times at the San Pedro Bay Port complex have remained steady throughout March compared to February.

Container truck dwell spent an average of 2.59 days at port terminals in March and rail cargo dwell time was an average of 7.02 days at terminals.

For trucking cargo, the March figure is within the normal range, suggesting efficient movement of cargo at this stage.

For rail-destined cargo, the March dwell times remained consistent with February, which was higher than
the normal range.

Last September, the Port of Los Angeles released a Waterfront Connectivity draft for San Pedro, a long-term planning document outlining strategies to better connect the larger region to the LA Waterfront.

More recently, the U.S. Department of Energy announced it will grant up to $1.2 billion to a public-private partnership formed to lead San Pedro Bay ports to create a hydrogen hub.
