The Council Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has approved in an Extraordinary Board of Directors meeting the specifications that comprise the legal and economic criteria for the tender of the new terminal.
This new terminal will reportedly be located in the northern expansion of PAV.
This conference was convened after the PAV received the contracting authorisation from the Spanish Government on 19 December, so that it could accept the specifications that will allow it to begin the process leading to the building of the new container terminal.
“We have got down to work, there is not a minute to lose,” emphasised Mar Chao, President of the PAV after the end of the meeting.

According to PAV, the basic tender budget for the new terminal construction project (dredging, quay, and consolidated fill) is more than €660 million ($726 million).
The new terminal project mentioned in the tender papers accepted was reportedly approved by the PAV Board of Directors at its meeting on 2 December 2022.
More recently, PAV reported that traffic climbed by 19.31 per cent in November.
