Associated British Ports (ABP) Port of Hull has welcomed the maiden call of Vertom Joy to its King George Dock.
The general cargo carrier, which was completed in early 2023, reportedy has a state-of-the-art diesel electric propulsion system including a battery bank and is kinder to the environment.
Operating on the Europe Caribbean Line (ECL) monthly service managed by Vertraco Shipping, the vessel is being handled by Global Shipping.
The Vertom Joy has ECL cranes that can carry a combined lift weight of 150 metric tonnes, is 128.86 metres in length. She has 80 metres of unboxed cargo space and has a cargo hold of 512,000 Cubic feet.
The modern multi-purpose ship can carry various cargoes from steel, iron ore to biomass, bulks, and project cargoes.
The vessel will serve on the liner service between Belgium – UK – Guyana – Surinam – Trinidad & Tobago and Venezuela.
