The Halifax Port Authority (HPA) has named Leanne Dixon, CPHR, as Vice President, Talent and Communications, and Heidi Schedler, KC, as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.
According to Fulvio Fracassi, President and CEO of HPA, the new executives bring a broad range of skills and experience to the organisation.
Dixon has held senior roles in human resources and communications with the Government of New Brunswick, Emera, IWK Health Centre, and Nova Scotia Power.
Fulvio Fracassi, President and CEO of HPA, said: “As we look to the future, we’re welcoming to our organisation two new, outstanding executive leaders with a breadth of skills and experience.”

Dixon stated: “The port plays a vital role in driving economic growth, facilitating global trade, and strengthening our region’s connectivity.”
Schedler said: “The port is a unique and critical asset for Halifax, Nova Scotia and all of Canada.”
In February, HPA received funding up to $22.5 million from Transport Canada through the Green Shipping Corridor Program to prepare the port for the fuels and energy sources of the future. The funding builds on existing work at the Port of Halifax, including the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Port of Hamburg.
