A new five year deal has been struck between one of the UK’s largest steel traders and PD Ports at Groveport, an inland port complex on the River Trent with direct sea access along the Humber Estuary.

All Steels Trading imports steel from across the globe and sells to stockholders and end users, offering 48 hour delivery for steel products – with Groveport being an important step in the supply chain.

Groveport has been an integral part of PD Port’s operations in the UK with steel products being handled and shipped through the location for 40 years.

Geoff Lippitt, Business Development Director at PD Ports, commented on the new deal.

He said: “We have a very experienced team handling steel products at Groveport and we are both delighted and proud to have further strengthened our long-standing relationship with All Steels Trading as UK port of choice for the next five years and beyond.

“We have vast experience in and knowledge of the markets steel traders operate in and our steel handling operations reflect the care and attention to detail we offer in this sector.”

Laurence McDougall, Managing Director at All Steels Trading, also said: “PD Ports understands what we need to keep our customers on track, it’s an invaluable partnership.

“We often have to respond quickly to fluctuations in demand and knowing we can rely on PD Ports to handle, store and have our steel products available on demand adds real strength to our customer offer in terms of efficiency and value for money.”
