NYK joins JSE Ocean

Japan Suiso Energy, Ltd. (JSE), and three Japanese shipping companies, have agreed to join JSE Ocean, Ltd. (JSE Ocean), a subsidiary of JSE.

The other three companies include Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (K LINE), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL), and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK).

JSE remains the majority shareholder with 50.2 per cent of stock, whilst the shipping companies hold 16.6 per cent each.

In August 2023, NYK and TB Global Technologies Ltd. (TBG), a Japanese manufacturer of cargo handling equipment for liquids, inked a preliminary agreement to create a distribution device for ammonia fuel transfer between ships.

More recently, NYK acquired a 25 per cent stake in PT. Patimban International Car Terminal (PICT), a car terminal operator based at the Indonesian Port of Patimban.
