The West Africa Container Terminal (WACT) operated by APM Terminals (APMT) at the Port of Onne has officially commissioned its new Container Freight Station (CFS).
The CFS acts as a central hub for various trade-related activities, including interaction with regulatory authorities and seamlessly connects businesses in Eastern Nigeria to the global marketplace and vice versa.

Various strategies are employed to enhance the transportation of vital Nigerian commodities, including agricultural goods and solid minerals. These measures are aimed at ensuring Just-in-Time service delivery through efficient stuffing and rapid transfers to the port.
Additionally, the system reportedly offers dependable warehousing solutions for import and export cargo across diverse industries.

Speaking at the ceremony to mark the commissioning of the Container Freight Station, WACT Managing Director, Jeethu Jose said: “The CFS will serve as a one-stop-shop where all our customers can consolidate their exports.
“The facility will aid the Nigerian government’s drive to promote export and forex which will be beneficial to the country and the economy.”
The new CFS not only enhances WACT’s capabilities but also contributes to regional development by generating new employment opportunities and fostering economic activity in Nigeria, according to APMT.
The facility further promotes efficient freight handling techniques, thereby ensuring the sustainability of the supply chain.
