Mwani Qatar enjoys surge in traffic

Mwani Qatar ports have recorded an increase in the number of vessels arriving during the past month.

In June 2022, the company’s ports welcomed a total of 274 vessels, 28 per cent up compared to May 2022.

Containers processed reached more than 118,000 TEU.

Containers, Livestock & Building Materials increased by 1 per cent, 332 per cent & 11 per cent respectively.

In 2019, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and Mwani Qatar announced that they have entered into a container services agreement that will see MSC use Hamad Port as a regional hub for transhipment.

As outlined by local media sources, starting in January 2020, MSC will manage up to 150,000 TEUs per year at the port, growing to one million TEUs by 2023.
