A video released by the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority shows a US$580 million multi-purpose port project, which is expected to be operational in 2017.
Phase one (which is the engineering phase) of the ‘Doraleh Multi-purposes Port’ project is to be jointly-funded and constructed by China Merchant Holdings, the Djibouti Port Authority, and the China State Construction Engineering Corporation.
The port project aims to create a key link in China’s One Belt, One Road strategy.
