MSC updates Türkiye – UK service

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced a recent update to its Türkiye to/from UK West Coast service.

This link between Türkiye and Liverpool now extends its reach to include Portbury and Greenock.

According to MSC, this update offers customers a route for cargo transportation between the UK and European markets as well as supporting the reduction of carbon emissions across their supply chain.

“With weekly direct calls, this revised rotation provides greater flexibility for customers shipping cargo to and from the UK West Coast,” MSC’s statement reads.

In addition to a direct service offering, MSC also announced it is providing customers with ‘mother vessel to mother vessel’ transshipments between India, Pakistan and the Far East, and the key UK West Coast ports of Liverpool, Greenock and Portbury (via Sines).

MSC service will connect Aliaga to Liverpool (12 days), Tekirdag to Greenock (17 days) and Valencia to Bristol (14 days).

The full rotation is as follows:

Piraeus – Izmir – Gebze – Gemlik – Tekirdag – Aliaga – Barcelona – Valencia – Sines – Le Havre –Liverpool – Greenock – Liverpool – Portbury – Le Harve – Valencia – Barcelona – Marsaxlokk

Last month, the MSC Aurora became the first containership to travel to Antwerp with a 16-metre draft under normal entry procedures, rather than as a trial voyage.
