APM Terminals (APMT) has announced the arrival of MSC Loreto at APMT Maasvlakte II in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
This arrival comes three months after APMT declared an expansion project of its Maasvlakte II terminal in Rotterdam, worth over €1 billion ($1.1 billion).
The MSC giant ship’s arrival was announced by APMT via its socials.
The record-breaking vessel measures 400 metres long and 61 metres wide, with a capacity of 24,346 TEU.
Its entry into the port was captured on video by Frank van Veen, Berthplanner at APMT.
In March of this year, Chinese shipbuilder Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding handed over a 24,116 TEU ultra-large containership to China’s Bank of Communications Financial Leasing to join MSC’s fleet.
Two months later, MSC Loreto arrived at the Port of Antwerp to load and unload containers at the MSC PSA European Terminal (MPET) at the Deurganckdock.
