MITSUI E&S receives order for 30 cranes in Vietnam

MITSUI E&S Co., Ltd. (MITSUI E&S) has received an order from Port of Haiphong Joint Stock Company (CHP) for six Ship-to-Shore (STS) Gantry Cranes and 24 Rubber-Tyred Gantry (RTG) Cranes.

CHP is currently constructing the container terminal in Lach Huyen area in Hai Phong City, located in the northern part of Vietnam.

The scale of procurement is reportedly one of the largest for both CHP and MITSUI E&S ever in Vietnam market.

The STS (Mitsui-Paceco Portainer) cranes to be delivered have a 65-metre outreach and are capable of handling large container vessels.

The cranes are expected to be among the largest cranes for CHP and in the Hai Phong area.

Together with the eco-friendly electrified RTGs (Mitsui-Paceco Transtainer), they are expected to contribute to CHP’s increased cargo handling capacity.

In September 2023, Kuenz delivered two new RMG barge cranes to Port of Limburg, the operator of Genk’s fresh new inland container terminal.

More recently, APM Terminals (APMT) Liberia announced it is set to see a further efficiency boost following the commissioning of two Liebherr 600 mobile harbour cranes.
