MAN Cryo gets approval for ammonia fuel-supply system

MAN Cryo, a subsidiary of MAN Energy Solutions, has announced that its concept for an ammonia fuel-delivery system has obtained Approval in Principle (AiP) from classification agencies DNV and Bureau Veritas.

MAN Cryo developed the system in collaboration with the Chinese company Yada Green Energy Solutions, with whom the company has previously collaborated to provide equipment for LNG and methanol marine fuels.

Xiang Guangqing, Chairman, Yada Green Energy Solutions, said: “Facing the climate-change issue, no one can solve it alone and we firmly believe that cooperation is a powerful means of achieving this. This month, MAN Energy Solutions and Karpowership signed a contract for the delivery of a total of 48 dual-fuel engines for Karpowership’s fleet of power plant ships (Powerships).
