Four major container shipping lines, COSCO, Ocean Network Express (ONE), OOCL and Yang Ming will launch a new East Mediterranean-America (EMA) Service as part of efforts to deliver a more efficient service network.
According to a statement, the new EMA service will be jointly operated by the four liners. It will consist of six Panamax vessels and will call at such ports as Haifa, Piraeus, Genoa, Algeciras, New York and Savannah.
By including Genoa and Algeciras port calls, the four lines will also engage in Genoa and Algeciras west bound service and provide diverse intra Mediterranean services through multi-stage utilization of the service.
With the introduction of the new EMA service, the four lines are pleased to offer enhanced service quality by meeting customer’s demand in the niche market.
The first commencing voyage is due to launch in April 2020.
