Maersk Line Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei has appointed Dan Lauritzen as its new ‘cluster manager.’

Lauritzen joined the Maersk Group as a trainee in 1996, starting with duties in Asia, Africa and Europe, and subsequently moved on to sales in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei from 2008 to 2011.

He has also worked in Ethiopia in his most recent post, which spanned three years and was given the opportunity of heading up Maersk’s operations in Africa.

Lauritzen has over 18 years experience in the liner shipping industry and will be given the responsibility of completing the Line’s sales, operations, customer service and finance in all three Southeast Asian countries.

Lauritzen said: “My focus will be on pursuing sustainable profitable growth in our container shipping business.”
