Maersk ResQ

A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) has completed the acquisition of ResQ for its subsidiary Maersk Training.

On 17 June, the company announced its intention to acquire ResQ, a leading supplier of services and expertise in safety training and emergency preparedness in Norway.

The transaction was subject to regulatory review and approval, which now has been obtained.

The enterprise value of the transaction is approximately $26 million.

Maersk said the acquisition of ResQ will provide a platform to its subsidiary to service the offshore renewables industry in the North Sea and increase its presence in Norway, as well as further build its portfolio of training courses.

ResQ is the largest third-party service provider for Maersk Training in Norway.

Maersk recently activated special measures to ease congestion at the Romanian Port of Costanta, as the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues to burden global supply chains.

The carrier identified and implemented alternative routes around affected regions as the port has been subject to a surge of additional cargo over the past five months amidst the war in Ukraine.
