Maersk appoints new MD for India, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka

Maersk has appointed Christopher Cook as its new Managing Director for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

The new appointment will be effective from 1 October 2024.

Cook has held several key leadership roles at Maersk, the most recent being his current role as the Managing Director of UAE, Oman and Qatar.

In his new role, Cook will lead Maersk’s commercial organisation in the geography.

“I am delighted to welcome Christopher to his new role,” said Richard Morgan, Managing Director, Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa.

“He will take charge of one of our most important markets, and I am confident Christopher’s wealth of experience will contribute to our growth in the geography.”

Just recently, Maersk Container Industry (MCI) introduced a new reefer technology, Star Cool 1.1, as part of its efforts to support more sustainable global cold chains.
