Leidos adds Port security solutions to portfolio

Leidos has added a number of Port and border security screening solutions to its product portfolio as a result of the acquisition of L3Harris Technologies’ security detection and automation business.

The acquisition was completed on 4 May for for approximately $1 billion in cash after having previously been announced on 4 February 2020.

The new businesses provide airport and critical infrastructure screening products, automated tray return systems and other industrial automation products. They will operate within the Leidos Civil Group, led by Jim Moos, Civil Group president.

For Ports specifically this includes:

  • CV 2 integrated cargo security software
  • CX-Pallet a configurable system for a range of cargo inspection requirements at land and seaport borders or air cargo facilities
  • CX-Portal a fully automated drive through inspection
  • CR-Portal radiation detection solutions

Leidos existing product range includes the Exploranium SRPM-210 Advanced Radiation Portal Monitor and, car, truck and cargo container scanning solution, the VACIS M6500 Mobile Inspection System (pictured).

Combined with Leidos’ existing cargo and baggage screening product lines, Leidos now goes to market with a global security detection and automation footprint of more than 24,000 systems deployed in more than 120 countries.
