Popular PTI author Kris Kosmala has joined leading consultancy firm for the maritime sector Royal HaksoningDHV as the Director of Smart Port Digital Services.
In his previous role as Vice President and General Manager for the Asia-Pacific region for Quintiq, Kosmala focused on building a foundation for the mathematical optimization and AI-powered solutions required by Asian maritime businesses.

Now at Royal Haskoning DHV, the new Director of Smart Port Digital Services will be tasked with applying advanced IT solutions to port and terminal operations in order to achieve higher levels of efficiency and profitability.
Key areas of interest for Kosmala include the optimization of vessel movements, cargo loading-discharge solutions and the productivity of hinterland operations.
Kris Kosmala will be a key speaker at the upcoming Container Terminal Automation Conference 2019, which will take place May 7-8 in London, UK.

Speaking about his new role, Kosmala said: “It was all about bringing digital innovations in port operations together with traditional port engineering services.
“It is becoming apparent that sometimes port operations cannot be improved substantially just with information technologies.
“Better port master planning and port re-engineering is needed to respond to gaps that information technologies can identify in the process of optimization done on existing port resources.”
