In July, 2016 a deal was signed for two Konecranes Boxhunter RTGs that will be delivered to Ben Nghe Port in Vietnam.

The port studied the Boxhunter concept thoroughly and was impressed by its new operating approach. The cranes will be delivered in June, 2017.

Mr Ngo Ba Phong, Manager of the Investment & Project Division of Ben Nghe Port, said: “The two new BOXHUNTER RTGs will greatly improve our container handling capacity and efficiency. By adopting the latest technologies, such as BOXHUNTER, we can better respond to the requirements of the global shipping lines.”

Ben Nghe Port’s new Boxhunter RTGs will have a lifting height of 1-over-5 and an operational width of six containers plus truck lane. They will be electrically powered by the latest cable reel system, and they will be equipped with GPS-based Auto-steering.

Review Konecranes Boxhunter RTG in PTI's Supplier Directory

The Boxhunter RTG has a new, modern operating concept where the driver sits comfortably in a cabin down at the truck lane, close to the truck loading and unloading action.

Mr Kimmo Nyman, Sales Director at Konecranes Port Cranes APAC, said: “Boxhunter is the ideal RTG for small and medium-sized container terminals.”

Boxhunter is also well-suited for inland logistics and warehousing operations, as well as for inland container terminals, that have ambitious growth plans.

Fact File: Ben Nghe Port is a growing container port, centrally located on the Saigon River in Ho Chi Minh City. The cranes will be delivered in cooperation with Telin Technology & Infrastructure JSC, a well-known technology and trading company in Vietnam.
