Independent assessment platform EcoVadis has presented INFORM the Silver Medal award, confirming the company’s growing sustainability initiatives.
With an overall score of 59 points, INFORM is above the industry average of 45 points and is among the top 12% of all companies evaluated in the information technology sector, the company said in a statement.
Sustainability and social responsibility have been a major focus of INFORM’s business activities since the company was founded more than 50 years ago. This can be attributed to the company’s core competence: the development of intelligent software systems that contribute, for example, to conserving resources in companies, reducing emissions, or combating financial crime. In recent years, INFORM has also increasingly implemented in-house ecological and ethical measures.
“The fact that we were able to move up from bronze to silver in the EcoVadis rating, rewards our efforts and makes us proud,” said Kim Schuh, Sustainability Officer at INFORM.
EcoVadis is the leading platform for monitoring sustainability in global supply chains. It evaluates companies’ policies and actions in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
In 2020, INFORM renewed its own data center, among other things, and installed energy-saving ventilation methods that reduce energy consumption by more than 30%. The switch to 100% green electricity also took place last year.
These and other measures resulted in an above-average EcoVadis rating of 70 points in the environmental area (the average is 42 points). INFORM also leads in the areas of ethics, as well as labor and human rights with both 60 points.
“A good and sustainable working environment has always been part of the company culture,” explains Schuh. This includes measures such as in-house childcare, various subsidies and an agile work organisation with flextime and remote working options, as well as an extensive company health management system.
