Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) has received ISO 45001 certification in the field of safety and health management from the Korean Register (KR).
HMM has attained the certification as a result of its efforts and organisational capabilities in preventing risk factors and industrial accidents in the workplace.
In order to implement safety and health management policies, the company said it formed a dedicated team in January 2022 as well as developed safety and health management manuals and conducted occupational risk assessments.
“The achievement of the ISO 45001 certification is a significant milestone on the pathway to sustainable growth, while at the same time fulfilling a social responsibility”, said Chief Safety and Health Officer, Kim Gyou-bong.
“We will be committed to enhancing a safe and healthy workplace culture to maintain organisational excellence.”
HMM recorded its best-ever quarterly profits in Q1 2022 owing to higher freight rates.
The company has posted a growth in revenue by 103 per cent to KRW 4,919 billion ($3.8 billion) in Q1 2022.
