HHLA PLT Italy, a subsidiary of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA), has received the UNI ISO 45001:2018 certification for its occupational health and safety management system.
In the Adriatic Port of Trieste, HHLA PLT Italy operates a multi-purpose terminal, which according to the company, is the first terminal in Trieste to receive the certification.

Tommaso Piras, Health and Security Manager at HHLA PLT Italy, said: “We are very proud to receive this important certification. We believe in our health and safety management system because we think that people are a company’s greatest resource.
“In PLT the health and well-being of our colleagues is an absolute priority. In addition, the management system allows to refine its processes and clarify the tasks of stakeholders involved in a structured way, and to constantly minimise possible sources of errors.”
In August 2023, HHLA recorded a drop in revenue and earnings in the first half of that year.
One month later, HHLA PLT Italy welcomed the container vessel line Ocean Network Express (ONE).
