Hapag-Lloyd redesigns CGX service ports of call

Hapag-Lloyd is adding Shanghai to its China-Germany Express (CGX) service and replacing Le Havre with Antwerp.

Changes will come into effect from the beginning of November.

The new CGX design aims to improve speed, efficiency – for high schedule reliability with weekly departures and on time delivery – and intermodal connectivity for the ports in Shanghai and Antwerp.

The service will restart with the following first sailings:

  • Westbound November 8, 2022
Shanghai – Wilhelmshaven: MV SEASPAN HAMBURG V. 004W
  • Eastbound December 12, 2022
Wilhelmshaven – Shanghai: MV SEASPAN HAMBURG V. 004E

Hapag-Lloyd AG recently signed a $1 billion agreement to take over Latin American terminal operator SM SAAM S.A.

The $1 billion binding agreement signed on 4 October means Hapag-Lloyd will acquire 100 per cent of the shares of SAAM Ports S.A. and SAAM Logistics S.A. and thereby the entire company’s terminal business and associated logistics services.
